This cross-border cycling route takes you to historic locations from World War II. As you ride through the diverse landscape, mainly in Germany, you’ll discover fascinating stories from this border region.
A large part of the route runs through German territory, where you'll come across traces of the war, such as bunkers, shelters, and memorials. These sites give you insight into how the border played a crucial role during the war years and how people on both sides struggled with occupation, escape, and resistance.
The route is not just historically interesting but also adventurous: you’ll cycle on both paved and unpaved paths, through forests, along rivers, and on quiet roads where history still feels alive.
You can download the route for free via the orange button. For the full experience, we recommend using the free IZI Travel app while cycling.
