Once built as a fortress, Montfort castle had fallen into ruin over the centuries. In recent years, two corner towers and several large cellars have been restored.
During the tour, the VVV tour guide will tell you about the fascinating past of the castle and its inhabitants. You descend into the atmospheric 14th century eastern cellars and into the dungeon in the White Tower. The castle towers offer a magnificant view over the castle garden and the surrounding area.
Before or after the tour a cup of coffee or tea with a slice of 'Moffelkook' is served.
Before you start the crossbow shooting, you dress up in medieval attire. The instructor will explain how to handle the crossbow. Then it is your turn. Who shoots all the arrows in the bull's-eye and turns out to be a modern-day Robin Hood!
