The Propeller of Herkenbosch
The propeller conceals sadness, loss, struggle, commitment and sacrifice. It symbolises the six British planes that were shot down here during World War II. In the process, 27 young men died. That, too, is what happiness is about: courage, freedom, respect and gratitude. A peaceful place where you can empathise with victims of war and violence.
Location
You will also find a Marian chapel at this location. This is a social neighbourhood with its own neighbourhood association: the Dr Biermansput. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the neighbourhood built this Marian chapel in 1996.
