Marisberg

The Marisberg is half a kilometre from the village of Grashoek and is a small nature reserve. This mountain is the highest point of the Peel and is 36 metres above sea level.

This nature reserve consists mainly of Scots pines and has a soil of gravelly sand. Two canals run through this area. The Deurne Canal and the Helena Canal. These were made to drain the Peel. Peat was extracted from it. Because of these canals it is a very beautiful area to walk. When you walk in the direction of Meijel, you will arrive at the nature reserves of Kwakvors and Scherliet.
