Church

The Paters church is a late Gothic monastery church and was part of the Minderbroeders monastery 'St Hieronymus'. Destroyed and rebuilt several times over the years, the church now has beautiful stained-glass windows and is currently used for exhibitions, meetings and events.

The church

For more than 500 years, people have prayed, baptised, married and buried, walked, worked, brewed beer, traded and played music. For all these occasions, the Paterskerk provided a large representative space in the city of Weert.

Today's Paterskerk fulfils a similar role in city life only in a different time. Even now, people meet here, exhibitions are on display, festive and solemn gatherings are held and cultural events take place. All this happens in a beautiful monumental ambiance that makes the connection with the past immediately visible.
