The tour with the Lucky Express
From the starting location, you take the Lucky Express on a scenic route to the Kerkberg in St Odiliënberg. Kerkberg is an iconic spot in the Roer valley. On top of the mountain stands the Roman basilica, which can be seen from afar, and at the foot of the Kerkberg meanders De Roer.
Next to the basilica is the Priory Thabor of the Canons of the Holy Sepulchre, a Roman Catholic religious community. Eight sisters currently live, pray and work there.
During the guided tour, one of the sisters tells about the history of the Priory and the work and life at the Priory.
After the visit to the Priory, you continue the tour through the Ruhr Valley. The tour is accompanied by a VVV guide who tells interesting facts and amusing anecdotes about the sights along the way.
Before starting the tour or following the tour, you will enjoy a delicious '12 o'clock' lunch.
