The monastery, several times ruined and rebuilt again, consists of rich baroque furniture and an atmospheric cloister. The monastery’s church (1526), also called Paterskerk, like more churches of beggar orders, has just one aisle. Probably is this the only remnant of the original church. The Paterskerk is home to exhibitions, concerts and other activities.
In 1461 the Minderbroedersklooster was founded by count Jacob I van Horne in his Aldenborgh (old castle).
