Pierre Cuypers is best known for the Rijksmuseum and Central Station in Amsterdam and Castle De Haar in Haarzuilens. He was also involved in the renovation of the Ridderzaal (Knight's Hall) in The Hague.
He also left his mark in Roermond. Together with the VVV tour guide you will walk past well-known and lesser known Cuypers buildings in the city centre. You visit, amongst others, the Munsterkerk. The guide will explain the role of Cuypers in the great restoration of this church during the second half of the 19th century.
Monday to Friday you will also visit the "Teekenschool'. This school was designed by Pierre Cuypers and was a showroom of his ideas. The interior of the school shows what is possible in the field of traditional techniques.
