Walking/hiking routes

Discover unique Nederweert with the ommetje ‘Sarsven en de Banen’. The Ommetje Nederweert is 5.56 km and takes you through the beautiful countryside, starting at Rowven Nature Reserve in Nederweert-Eind, where node 79 welcomes you.

Route Ommetje Nederweert

Start your journey from node 79 and admire the Rowven natural playground, perfect for active nature experiences. Walk from node 79 to node 82 and who knows, you might encounter a herd of wild horses along the way. Don't forget to walk straight ahead between nodes 82 and 11 to explore the bird hide.

Sheepfold

Then follow junction 11 and at the end of the forest path, the beautiful nature reserve de Banen unfolds before your eyes. Once on the paved road, follow node 13 and immediately afterwards node 14. Consider a trip to the Sheepfold, especially during lambing season, by walking from node 14 to node 38. To visit the Sheepfold, walk from node 14 towards node 38. When you see the 2a sign on the left side of the road, turn right. Enjoy the sheep and lambs and return to node 14. Continue your path to node 34, where you can enjoy the view over the Sarsven on the left. Then walk to node 32 and follow the road to node 79 to rejoin Rowven Nature Reserve.
