The route starts in Wassenberg, Am Rosstor. You will pass the Burg Wassenberg, Kasteel Aerwinkel, Kasteel Montfort, the Prins Bernhard mill, Kasteel Daelenbroeck, the Effelder Waldsee, Schloss Effeld and Schloss Elsum. You will encounter the river the Ruhr several times during this trip. The route follows junctions, both on the German and Dutch side of the border.
