Spoorplas

Recreational water

The Spoorplas was created by gravel extraction and is completely cut off from the Maas. This lake owes its name to the extraction of ballast gravel for the railways.

Together with the Gerelingsplas it forms a very important water bird area within the Maas lakes.

Beavers have been released at the Spoorplas, as can be seen by the many trees that have been gnawed down. This lake is also very suitable for a canoe trip.
