The Journey of the Roer
The River Roer rises in the Belgian High Fens and flows through Germany before reaching the Netherlands near Vlodrop. While the river is often canalised in Germany, it meanders freely through the Dutch landscape, passing the villages of Vlodrop, Herkenbosch, Sint Odiliënberg and Melick, before eventually flowing into the River Meuse near Roermond.
