On the facade of Sint Janstraat 2 in Roermond hangs a beautifully restored mosaic depicting Saint John the Baptist alongside a lamb, a symbol of Christ as the “Lamb of God.” Known as John the Baptist, he holds a special place in Catholic tradition and is the patron saint of architects, masons, carpenters, tanners, tailors, and winemakers.
This iconic image of Saint John with the lamb references his role as the forerunner of Jesus. At the end of the street, you can also see the Sint Janspoort.
