MTB route Weert - Graaf van Horne trail
The mountain bike route Graaf van Horne trail starts in the nature reserve the IJzeren Man and runs along various nature reserves such as Het Blauwe Meertje, the Laurabossen, and the Tungelerwallen. You cycle along the Tungelroyse brook and cross the Maaseikerweg to the De Krang nature reserve. After a loop, you return to the Tungelerwallen and continue the route to the woods of Altweerterheide. From there, you cross the Land van Horne via the railway bridge over the Zuid-Willemsvaart to the Weerterbergen. After crossing the A2 motorway, you reach the Weerterbos, after which you return to the starting point at the IJzeren Man.
The route consists of singletracks, dirt tracks and country roads, with occasional connections to paved roads. Originally the route was a hiking trail, but a mountain bike route was created based on it. Although some parts are technical, the route is suitable for both experienced and less experienced mountain bikers. The route can be started at any point.
