Shortly after a little chapel was built, and many times rebuilt. In 1613 a new chapel was built. The present chapel dates from 1985 and is one of the busiest pilgrimage chapel in the Netherlands. Coming from the town center , following the Kapellerlaan, the chapel is visible.

The O.L.V. Kapel in 't Zand thanks its origin to the devotion of the tiny statue of Our Lady, found in 1435, like the legend tells.
