Across boardwalks and country paths in De Krang
This peaceful route leads you through the rural outskirts of Weert. The De Krang Orange trail takes you along open fields, leafy woodlands and the meandering Tungelroyse Brook. A narrow footbridge offers views of the rippling water. Windmill De Hoop slowly turns in the distance, and in Swartbroek you’ll pause at the small war cemetery. In the De Krang nature reserve, the path winds over wooden boardwalks past ponds and wet meadows. A route full of tranquillity, nature and wide-open views.

Quiet and tracks in the Meinweg
You walk through a landscape of heathland, sandy hills and quiet woods. The Meinweg-Luzenkamp trail leads you along rolling paths through the Melicker Heath, between Roermond and National Park De Meinweg. Tracks of badgers and wild boar reveal that you're not the only one crossing this area. Start and end at the golf course, where you can warm up afterwards with something tasty. A peaceful route with plenty of variety.

Across boardwalks in De Peel
De Groote Peel is as Dutch as it gets and yet, this area on the border of North Brabant and Limburg is unlike any other in the country. There's only one way to explore De Peel: with your hiking boots, walking over the wooden paths of the Mussenbaan – Blue trail. Some parts may still be swampy, but thanks to the many boardwalks, De Peel remains accessible.

Views and stories along the Meuse
You follow a circular route along the Huurvaarderspad near Beesel, where timber was once transported via the Meuse. Today, this walk takes you past farmlands, meadows and through a wooded area. Along the way, you pass Mortelpark and the Grauwe Beer windmill. From the open fields, you’ll have views of the river and the surrounding landscape. The route starts at the Markt in Beesel and blends nature with local history.

Border nature along the Schwalm
The Premium Hiking Trail Schwalmbruch lets you experience nature up close on the Dutch-German border. You walk along the River Schwalm, through wet forests, damp grasslands and juniper heath. The landscape constantly changes – just like the sounds and sights. You might spot an osprey above the water or hear a reed warbler singing in the distance. From the viewing tower, you look out over a vast wetland full of life. This 15-kilometre walk is a surprise in every season.

Walking between village, river and fields
This walk, Between Village & River, is just over 9 kilometres and starts in the heart of Buggenum, where the traces of high water are still felt. You stroll through the green area of Buggenums Broek, past old stories of the Meuse and quiet paths in the open countryside. Along the way, you’ll have views of Neer, Roermond and the Leudal area. The route partly follows old escape paths, once used during floods. A walk full of landscape, memories and stillness.

Where Meuse and people shape the landscape
Between Thorn and Wessem lies the Drie Eigen (orange) route, full of space, rhythm and relief. You walk through open fields, past the Maasplassen and along quiet country roads with views of the water and the white town in the distance. This 6.9-kilometre walk leads you through a landscape shaped by both the Meuse and by people. Along the way, you can take a break in Thorn or Wessem – two villages, each with its own atmosphere and story. A varied trail where nature and culture come together effortlessly.
