Hart van Limburg has an extensive network of rivers, lakes and canals that are perfect for boating in Limburg. Well-known areas such as the Maas, the Roer and the Maasplassen offer excellent boating opportunities, but smaller waterways are also part of the region's boating area. The Maasplassen were created by gravel excavations and together form an area of more than 3,000 hectares of water. This makes it the largest contiguous water sports area in the Netherlands.
