This route is beautiful all year round, but in the asparagus season it is extra special. During this route, you pass various asparagus fields and farms where you can buy the white gold fresh from the ground. This asparagus route starts at the Kerkeböske (Museum Peel en Maas) in Helden.
The asparagus season runs from mid-April until 24 June. So if you plan to buy a few kilos of the white gold on the way, the best time to get on your bike is in this period. But also outside the asparagus season, this is a wonderful route to cycle. During the route, you will pass through a lot of varied nature and several village centres.
The route starts in a woody area. From the starting location in Helden, you cycle via the cycle path through the 'Heldense bossen' towards Maasbree. As soon as you leave the forest, you can see the asparagus fields with the characteristic asparagus beds already appearing in the season.
