The sculpted corner statue of a female figure called 'Onze lieve vrouw of Banneux' (Our Lady of Banneux) is a monument in Tegelen (municipality of Venlo). It is made of gres (pottery, Belgian stone) and has a height of 1 meter 30. The memorial was erected in memory of the protection it offered in March 1945, with the inscription: 'IN GRATITUDE FOR YOUR PROTECTION. MARCH 1, 1945.'

Monument ‘Onze Lieve Vrouw van Banneux’

The residents of Tegelen (municipality of Venlo) promised to erect a monument to Our Lady of Banneux if the danger of war was averted and their families were spared during World War II. The monument commemorates the liberation and the regaining of freedom and peace. The creation of the memorial was an initiative of the neighborhood association 'Draagt Elkanders Lasten'.
