The old cemetery was brought back to life in 2014 on the initiative of the Historical Workgroup Grashoek. This was done with this wall, containing all 250 names of ancestors who were buried here from 1918 to 1945.

Artist Wouter Bouman from Nijkerk made the design and provided all the stones with a name. Jos Hermans made the cross that stood in the church on the presbytery for several years from 1976. There it was replaced in the 80-
It was replaced there in the 1980s, because various churchgoers were disturbed by the modern design.

The Historische Werkgroep Grashoek (Historical Workgroup Grashoek) gives the cross on this spot a double meaning: "Both the sign of the cross in the traditional Christian sense, the faith that the pioneers professed", but it is also a symbol "for the crossroads around which the village was founded". Furthermore, the Workgroup says: "The work of art has many
traces that have been applied in different layers. These traces must show that history has had its ups and downs in the years that people have lived in our area and built a society. Certainly the early years of the creation of this pioneer village were difficult."
