The rich history of the municipality of Roerdalen is evidenced by the number of castles, country estates, stately homes and mills located there. Some are privately owned, others are open to visitors.
The tour takes you past some of these 'castles' and remnants of once imposing buildings. The guide elaborates on the former residents and their history.
There are two different routes:
1. Kasteel Aerwinkel in Posterholt - Kasteel Montfort in Montfort
2. Kasteel Aerwinkel in Posterholt - Kasteel Daelenbroeck in Herkenbosch
You choose which castle you prefer to start from. At the other castle, you stop for a drink and a short visit to the castle or the castle garden. You can also opt for a glass of bubbly, if you wish to add some extra class to your visit.
