Stolperstein in memory of Michael Weijand. He was born on May 8, 1910 in Rheden. He lived in Arnhem and worked as a merchant. He went into hiding, was arrested and on July 8, 1944 was placed in punishment barracks 67 in Westerbork and was deported from there to Auschwitz on September 3, 1944 (arrival on September 5, 1944, Czech, p. 868). From Auschwitz, he was likely transferred on October 28, 1944 to Stutthof (100 438) and with the transport in November 1944 to Hailfingen (41 011). He was cremated in the crematorium on the Unter den Linden cemetery in Reutlingen. His wife and two children survived the war.

Michael Wijnand was one of the 30 Dutch Jews from KZ camp Heilfingen who worked at the airport. After his death, he was cremated in Reutlingen where he lies in the grave near the entrance. A memorial stone with names was erected on June 6, 2010.
