The route is fully included in the Archeo Route Limburg app. The route is fully included in the Archeo Route Limburg app. Download the app and start the route from the app. Along the way you will be warned via a notification bell when you visit an interesting location.
You can start the route from anywhere on the route. You will cycle the route clockwise. We keep the Petershuis museum in the center of Gennep as a starting point.
Before or after you can find additional information about the points you will experience in the museum along the way. There you can also borrow an extra power bank and earplugs.
There are also Additional information leaflets about the route available. These are not necessary to cycle the route, but do provide extra information. In the app you will find information about the sights along the way.

At ten Archeo Route Limburg locations you will discover various important aspects and finds from the history of Gennep. You also cycle a short distance through Germany. On the route you will discover, among other things, the importance of the Genneperhuys and Huys Heyen. After your bike ride you will know, among other things, where the name Gennep comes from, what the importance of Gennep has been for rail transport, what the Franks meant to Gennep and what a circumvallation line is. If you follow this route, you will also pass various other sights along the way.
The Archeo cycle route of Gennep is an interesting and educational experience for young and old.

- Make sure your phone's battery is full and take your charger with you if necessary.
- If you have an extra power bank, we recommend that you also take it with you. This is because this route contains a lot of information and you do not have to recharge during a coffee moment on the way.
