Kesselse Bergen

Together with De Heldense Bossen, De Meeren and Kesseleikerbroek, De Kesselse Bergen forms a triangle and contiguous woodland area in Helden, Baarlo and Kessel.

This nature reserve consists mainly of coniferous forests. These coniferous forests were once planted on the shifting sand dunes for the production of mine timber. The trees went their own way after the exploitation of wood was stopped. In between the woodlands, there are occasional fields where asparagus is grown. It is a varied area where shifting sand hills occur.
