The restored historic centre of Stevensweert is a preservation site. Stately old buildings, centuries-old monuments and cobblestone paving, Stevensweert has a unique atmosphere.
Situated around the beautiful Jan van Steffeswertplein are the old government building dating from 1732, the Catholic St. Stephen's church from 1781, the Protestant church from 1819 and the former town hall, which was designed by the famous Roermond architect Pierre Cuypers.
In this former town hall you watch a short film about the history of the fortified town of Stevensweert. Afterwards the guide will lead you through the historic centre. A visit to the Catholic and the Protestant church is also included in this tour.
