Recreational water

The Vissenakker Lake was created by gravel extraction. A buoy line has been laid on the boundary of the Olympic Sailing Triangle Circle. This buoy line forms a boundary for water recreation.

On this lake, water skiing is forbidden and the maximum speed is 9 km/h. Diving is allowed in the purple and orange zones marked on the plan behind the buoy line. This is the zone between the buoy line and the shore. The purple zone is also accessible for boat anglers with an electric motor and a permit. Furthermore, various species of birds can be found in this area. The Vissenakker is 500 hectares in size, 40 hectares of which have been filled in again to make redevelopment of the area possible.

This lake is used a lot for surfing. At parking Surfspot Kessenich you can park your car close to the water, but beware: this is only for members! Here you also find a sandy beach where you can take a nice walk (with your dog).
