The history of the Wegberger mill dates back to the 16th century. The Wegberger mill, also known as Ramachers mill, is a former oil and grain mill, centrally located on the Schwalm between the castle and the church. With the sale of the castle and the entire estate, the mill came into private hands. Baltasar Ramachers bought the mill at the end of the 19th century. From then on it was called Ramacher's Mill. The milling process was discontinued in the late 1960s.
Until the sale of the mill to the city of Wegberg in 2003, it remained in the possession of the Ramachers family. After the complete renovation in 2009, the mill serves as a café and also serves as an information point for walkers and cyclists, where you will find a large selection of brochures and maps about the various walking and cycling routes. You also have the option to borrow a navigation system for your bicycle, with all routes already included.
