Along the Meuse, numerous extraordinary archaeological discoveries have been made. During this route, you will learn more about these discoveries and the importance of the river for Limburg. The stories bring the past to life and show how the Meuse has shaped the landscape and the region.
An easy route via junctions
The cycle route follows the junction system, making it easy to follow. You can start the route at any point and let the Archeo Route Limburg app guide you. The navigation function in the app will guide you to the nearest starting point, after which you follow the route clockwise.

You will cycle past the inner city of Roermond, the Maasplassen, the double locks at Osen and through the villages of Ool, Horn and Beegden. You also take the bicycle ferry ‘Beej Ool euver’ and enjoy nature on the Beegderhei. Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to experience Burgundian Limburg.
