Exhibition; Birds of God
From December 9, 2023 to September 1, 2024, the exhibition Birds of God in the Mission Museum shows how the mission village of Steyl became the center of the trade in feathers of the bird of paradise, for fashion houses in Berlin and Paris. The importance of the bird of paradise for hunters and mission brothers then and New Guinea now.
