Piëlrundje of Ysselsteyn
This unique tour starts at: Lovinckplein 1 in Ysselsteyn. This route is characterized by the beautiful forests and fens. The route passes notable places such as the German military cemetery where 31,598 soldiers are buried, nature reserve the Paardekop with a beautiful watchtower and a hut made of sods, nature reserve the Rouwkuilen, casemates (bunkers from the 2nd World War), raceway Venray and the airforce base Lieutenant-General Bestkazerne.
Route
The route, the Piëlrundje of Ysselsteyn, has an alternation of long stretches and singletracks. There are also a few stretches of asphalt road to get from one nature area to another. At the old circuit de Peel and along the Defensiekanaal there is some climbing in the course. The route is marked with wooden posts with the international MTB sign in orange (triangle with 2 circles underneath). From the starting point to the beginning of the route there are poles with the international MTB sign in black. At the end of the route you are led back to the start of the route via the same markings.
