With the Roermond accent one speaks about “den aje kirkhaof”. The cemetery came into operation in May 1785. It is extraordinary because of her age and even more because of her appearance. Almost nowhere in the Netherlands is the distinction between Catholics, Protestants and the two Jewish parts so clearly visible. There are a number of special graves including the hand grave, the family grave of dr. Cuypers and the Episcopal Chapel is. The old cemetery can be visited daily from 8:00 a.m. until sunset.
