The former monastery "Keizerbosch" is a rectangular building with one floor and hipped roof.

The former convent has been in use since the 18th century as two farm houses with stables, one of which is used as overnight accommodation.

The convent, a former women's monastery, was founded around 1200 by the Norbertines of Averbode. In 1353 there were 25 exclusive noble nuns living there, but the history books tell us that they did not live very religiously. In 1605, the highest governing body of the Norbertines determined that the rules of life of Keizerbosch had to be observed more strictly. The nuns did not like this and resigned one by one. The four nuns who finally remained were sent home.

After this, the monastery was rebuilt, but without the nobility. The existing buildings were restored and new ones were built. Unfortunately, the time of Napoleon came and the monastery was dissolved.
