The Balloon Column Forest is a forest area located between Merselo and Overloon in the municipality of Venray. The woodland consists of mixed coniferous and deciduous forest. It is bordered on the north side. The Ballonzuilbossen are named after the oldest aviation monument in the Netherlands, the Ballonzuil which was placed in 1896.
