The hydroelectric plant, owned by 'Rijkswaterstaat', is managed by the Foundation 'Waterkrachtcentrale Roeven Nederweert' and is one of the oldest plants in our country.

The plant was built in 1923 by Rijkswaterstaat for the relief of Sluice 15 and the sluice in the Noordervaart. In 1993 the central has been restored, brought back in business and now delivers 'green electricity'.
